2008 Summer Schedule of Classes & Workshops
This summer’s schedule is full of great one day classes and is sure to please everyone! It is difficult to find the time during the summer months and we have designed our schedule to accommodate as much as possible.
Please feel free to drop into the store or call for more details on any of our classes or workshops. All tools are available in our store.
Please be aware that a great deal of preparation goes into our courses and for this reason we have a cancellation policy of $50.00 if a student cancels within two weeks of a class (certain circumstances are exempt).
Wood Burning Techniques All Levels
NEW CLASS! This is a great class for Bird Carvers or Pyrographers, Beginners or Intermediates. Students will be shown an assortment of tips and their uses along with techniques to creating lifelike fur and feathers.

Songbird Crash Course Beginners
For someone considering getting into carving this is the idea course. Spend one day and learn all the basics including roughing, shaping, texturing and painting. This is an intensive course that is suitable for carvers with no experience.

Beginners Wood Burning in Color Beginners
This is the perfect class for someone that is interested in trying wood burning. Students will learn the basics of wood burning and adding color. Everyone will leave with a finished piece of artwork that is ideal for hanging on your wall.

NEW CLASS! This is a new class for us and the first course for Hume Curiston, our newest teacher. This is a fun and unique project that is sure to leave everyone smiling.

Whimsical Bark House All Levels
This course has always been one of our most popular. From a piece of unique bark students will learn to create a whimsical little home for fairies or gnomes. ‘The Illustrated Guide to Carving Tree Bark’ is an excellent resource for this course.

Advanced Wood Burning in Color Int./Adv.
NEW CLASS! Due to increasing demand for our wood burning classes we have added a follow up to the Beginners Wood Burning in Color. Students will create a more detailed project while applying all the skills they learned in the Beginner’s class along with new ones.

Beginners Haida Panel Beginners
This course is a great introduction to the art of Haida carving. Using only one tool students will use a form of relief carving to create a beautiful native piece.

Whimsical Lighthouse Beginners
This is the perfect course for someone who wants a relaxing day of carving and has an interest in the coast. Students will be shown all the steps to creating a fun and whimsical lighthouse from a piece of cottonwood bark.

Power Tools & Accessories All Levels
The world of power carving is vast and sometimes overwhelming. Come for an afternoon of useful information that will dispel the uncertainties that you have regarding power tools and all the accessories that come along with them. Students will learn about the different power tools, their accessories and maintaining them. This is a great seminar for those that already have power tools and anyone considering buying one.
